Comic Book Character History Goes Way Past Your Headcanon

That’s why we’ve compiled a basic glossary of the most common terms and concepts you’ll see in fandom culture. Soon you’ll be talking the talk and feeling the feels alongside your fellow fans — or at least you’ll be able to understand what the fan in your life is talking about. I think we both had a pretty good time with the interactions between those two. As played/written, he was vastly more powerful than Kai was, and in character, they both knew that. But being reasonable people OOC, that power imbalance never actually caused any problems.

I started with Iron Man in the Heroes Reborn era. And in spite of confusion about pocket universes I followed Iron Man back from Heroes Reborn into mainstream Marvel. I think this is an importantsubject to take notice of because it shows how the lines between how magic isportrayed in media and how magic is enacted in the real world continue to blur. These productions have made fictional characters out of religious figures such as the archangel Gabriel or the god Odin. So the question is, when I decide that I agree that the demon Crowley from Good Omens is most definitely the Archangel Raphael, only fallen, that’s definitely fanon, right?

Neither of which I would ever reread for leisure or fun. But just because I don’t like them, doesn’t mean they don’t have a place in the timeline and are a part of the canon. I watched as this guy took every argument I had heard since the decanonization and had rebuttals for every one of them, all by using direct quotes from George Lucas himself and the folks at Lucas Licensing, including citations and all.

Often they come from dreams or small ideas that pop into someone’s mind. Just the other day I was going about my usual routine when I came to the startling realization that the 13th Doctor could be Luna Lovegood’s mother and the thought simply would not go away. Sure enough, when I mentioned it to my then-fiancée the headcanon generator was accepted as a wonderful possibility. In that moment, my UPG became a microcosm SPG. The idea of Pandora Lovegood being Thirteen in disguise has zero precedent other than the fact that I am in love with the idea and I want someone to make fanfiction about it right this instant because I am way too busy for that.

Now obviously, in head canon genorator, this gets more complicated as time goes on and she takes on a more feminine appearance. However, having an alternate universe setting or a canon divergence setting where Haruhi actually comes to terms with her gender in a non-cis way is certainly a viable choice even without other trans characters for balance. I can certainly also see this going wrong if not well-considered, such as if someone goes the route of Haruhi being closeted. Often, when it comes to stories about closeted trans people, the story only revolves around them struggling with their transness or taking the leap to come out as trans. This goes back to the struggle narrative/trauma porn. It’s definitely a way for a trans writer to work through their own feelings about it, but I generally urge cis writers to stay away from anything approaching that.

The show writers certainly seem like they were considering it. I thought it would be awesome if he were ace instead. Daryl is another character who has never shown any romantic or sexual interest in anybody else, leading me to believe that he is an aromantic asexual. All of his relationships within the first five seasons thus far have been entirely platonic. Even when Beth (may she rest in peace) offers to have sex with him, he turns her down. All in all, I was left with the impression that he just isn’t interested in sex in general, and his lack in romance and sexual partners is certainly one of the reasons I love his character so much.

Idk if someone else has thought of this before, but hear me out on this new worldbuilding headcanon for Minecraft. Phantoms pose the same ecological role as IRL vultures. The reason a lot of them swarm (and even attack) the player when they haven’t gotten sleep is because they sense lack of energy (which, for a lot of animals means death is nearby) and assume the player is either dead or dying. Marcille has very conservative ideas about a lot of stuff, including gender roles. It’s a pretty significant part of her characterization.
